Clean Car Pledger Survey Results Ð Clean Cars and You
Late laste year, nearly 7,000 Clean Car Campaign pledgers took a survey about their car purchasing habits, car care, and whether their views towards green vehicles had changed since taking the pledge. The survey response was terrific! We have learned that you are a remarkable group that is highly committed to addressing auto pollution through your vehicle buying habits, driving behavior, and communications with friends and decision-makers. It was also apparent that the Clean Car Pledge has made an impact on your actions.

Alert Update: Making Gas Guzzling SUVs More Fuel Efficient
The Bush Administration's Department of Transportation (DOT) wants to increase fuel economy standards for light trucks, including SUVs, pick-ups, and minivans, by a mere 1.5 miles per gallon (mpg) for model years 2005-2007. Since early February, over 30,000 Clean Car Campaign and Environmental Defense e-mail activists have contacted the DOT commenting that this proposal does not go far to increase fuel economy of light trucks, reduce oil dependence and cut global warming pollution. Thanks for taking action.
Heads Up! In early April, the DOT is expected to react to your comments and will announce their final proposed fuel economy increase. Stay tuned for an update from the Clean Car Campaign on this upcoming announcement.
